Neurosurgeon First in Fairfield
County 05/01/2008 The popularity and effectiveness of
knee and hip replacements have given way to a new type of artificial
prosthesis that is helping people with arthritis of the back and the
resulting back, neck and arm pain. A cervical disc replacement removes the section of
the spine affected by arthritis and replaces it with an artificial disc made
of stainless steel, according to Scott Sanderson, M.D., Department of Surgery, Section of Neurosurgery at
Danbury Hospital.
